  • Updating Events & Projects to FCPX 10.1 – Some Projects missing from new Library

I’ve just installed FCPX 10.1.1, and am updating the Events and Projects on several external disks to 10.1 Libraries. On one of these disks I had 4 Events in the “Final Cut Events” folder, and 4 related Projects in the “Final Cut Projects” folder.

In FCPX 10.1.1, I selected File > Update Projects and Events… The process seemed to complete normally. However, although my new Library contains all 4 Events, its “Updated Projects” folder contains only 1 of the 4 projects. The “Updated Projects” folder also contains 2 other items that were not Projects in 10.0.9.

When FCPX completed the process, I clicked “Save” (instead of “Move to Trash”) to preserve the original 10.0.9 projects and events. On that drive, the “Old Final Cut Projects and Events” folder contains all 4 of the old Events, and all 4 of the old Projects. It seems that FCPX 10.1 did “see” all of the Projects, but failed to include 3 of them in the Library.

Any idea why FCPX 10.1.1 did not include the missing 3 Projects in my new Library? How can I update that Library to include the missing Projects?

As for the 2 non-Project items in the “Updated Projects”: One is a custom Lower Third, the other is an audio clip. Any idea where came from, and why they appear to be updated projects in 10.1.1?

    Thanks,
    FastBill

I’m having the exact same problem. FCPX has recognised the project but it doesn’t have any thing in the the timeline. What can be done ?
