    Good morning all,

Has anyone noticed a performance hit using updated newblue effects? I upgraded to the GPU versions of Video Essentials 1 through 4 about a month ago, and performance has been terrible. Newblue tech support is looking into this. Has anyone had experience with their tech support?

What’s the timing difference with GPU Acceleration turned on vs turned off?

    What video card/driver version?

    Thanks for responding Ed,

I have only run in CPU mode. My system has 12 real cores (+12 hyper-threaded.) Early tests indicated that GPU mode was a hindrance. I have re-enabled it to re-visit that question.

My NVIDIA driver version is 301.42.

If you have the 3.0 version of the NewBlue plugin installed, I was referring to having GPU both turned on and off there.

That driver is sufficiently up to date.

I’m not sure I follow you Ed. I have reverted to Video Essentials 1.4, because I have to get work done.

Where in the plugin do you change the GPU setting?

Version 1.4 does not have GPU Acceleration. I did not realize you had gone back to the previous version. That option would only be in version 3.0.

    Ed,

I’m in a real situation here. After backing out of the NB upgrade my render times are still 4x longer. I have started a support ticket with NB but it’s not getting a lot of traction.

I have gone to batch rendering the noise reduction part over the weekend for the shows I edit the following week. Fortunately it’s not time sensitive content.

I wish I could get my old system back.

Put another note on the ticket at NewBlue.
