I have a psd image that I am using in after effects. when I make changes to the psd and reload the psd file in after effects, all changes are updated (such as layer content, size, etc…) but the layer position does not update (ex: originally layer 1 was located at the top left of the screen and the psd file was updated so that layer 1 is now located at the bottom right of the screen. When I reload psd in aftereffects, the footage still shows layer 1 at the same location, top left of the screen).

Can someone please tell me how to update the position of a layer from a psd file in after effects?

Thank you very much in advance 🙂

You may need to re-import the layer.

When you first import a PSD there are several options that change how AE will treat the file. One of these changes whether the Photoshop layer size or document size determines the size of the layers in AE.

If you’ve imported your layer with “Layer Size” then movement in Photoshop will not be updated when you reload in After Effects.
