  Upconvert letterboxed 4×3 for DVD?

  I have a digibeta with a letterboxed movie. I’d like to make a dvd that will play 16×9 (without the letterbox).

  Rather than scale up in FCP, I figured I’d upconvert the movie using the Kona3 so that I can scale down in FCP and have the letterboxed movie fill the frame in an SD 16×9 sequence.

  What’s the best workflow for this? Should I up convert to 1080i 29.97? 720p 59.94?

  Or… should I do an SD to SD convert with the V-crop option?
