Hi, I’m exporting an avi to an mpeg2 format from Adobe Premiere CS3. It looks very clean except I’m noticing “scan lines” (might not be the proper name) on text that is moving into the shot. This mpg file is to be sent and run on television. Will the lines show up on tv? I’ve read that the lines will show up on your computer monitor (exporting lower fields like original video, not progressive) but not sure about tv. Could someone tell me the best settings to export mpeg2 and possibly to get rid of these lines? I don’t see it on the original avi. Thanks in advance, Donovan

Interlacing lines are perfectly normal when viewed on an LCD monitor. If you choose de-interlace, you will lose nearly half of your resolution.

Vince, thanks for your reply. I just hadn’t noticed the scan lines on the avi, but did notice them on the mpg. Have a good weekend, Donovan
