So, I have a layer that is the map of the United States. I clicked 3D to on. Then, I added a camera to the layer above. Finally, from much suggestion, I added a null layer on the very top of the composition, switched it to 3D and made it the parent of the camera.

The move I was going for was: Track quickly from the west coast, slowly track over the middle states, then quickly track off to the east coast. So, a total of four keyframes on the null, only effected to the x-axis.

West coast > —-middle US—–> East Coast

However, between the second and third keyframe, the movement bumps from the normal left to right, going right to left, then switches again and goes left to right to catch up to the third keyframe.

West Coast > —-middle US >—-<–middle US—-> East Coast

Any ideas how to fix this?

make sure that the interpolation for your keyframes is set to linear.
