    I’ve used Premiere for years, but am perplexed by a never seen issue. I imported video I had shot with my new Sanyo VPC-FH1 1080p. Now I can shoot on many different settings and since I knew my computer most likely couldn’t handle the ‘Full HD’ video so I shot this test footage on ‘TV-SHQ’ setting listed below.

    * Full-HR 1920×1080 (60 FPS HR) – you better have one powerful computer if you want to edit these files. But for simple cut/join edits, you can do that through the camera of course.
    * Full-HD 1920×1080 (60 field/s) – same reasons with above
    * Full-SHQ 1920×1080 (30 FPS SHQ) – recommended
    * HD-SHQ 1280×720 (30 FPS SHQ)
    * TV-SHQ 640×480 (30 FPS SHQ)
    * Web-SHR 448×336 (240 FPS SHR) – limited to 10 second-recordings
    * Web-UHR 192×108 (600 FPS UHR) – limited to 10 second-recordings

    The video loaded just fine. I uploaded some music and everything edited smoothly. Then when I tried to export it the entire piece would only render out to around 85% and then would give me a memory issue or compiling error. Shouldn’t be an issue as I’ve edited many videos in the past. I switched render into memory mode to no avail.

    Now after restarting is I have files that only show the red screen of death in the timeline and when I try to re-link the video files it says they are either an unsupported format or damaged. The files still play just fine when I double click on them.

    Why can’t I render these files out in the first place? Anyone have any advice for me regarding this issue? Plus, is there a way to edit Full HD video on CS3?

    By the way I am using an Inspiron 1520 by Dell with 3GB Ram, 2GB Duo Processor…..

    I dont see any support for AVCHD in CS3.
    If you are going to stick with 640×480, use a video converter such as QT Pro to convert to DV.

    I will give that a shot! As for sticking to 640×480….that was just for now. I do want to be able to edit and use the full HD feature of the camera.

    Will CS3 handle HD or do I need to buy CS4?

    With that said…why did it allow me to import and edit all the video without issues. I completed the entire project, but then it just decided to unlink from the video and call them unsupported formats?

    Seems a little odd doesn’t it?

    Hmmm I’ve also been using Premiere for years and suddenly (started in December) this error. HD clips that have been working for ages suddenly is unsupported. First I thougt it was something bad in the computer and reinstalled the whole computer and it works fine for e few days and then the same again. Been working for close to two weeks to figure it out. 3 reinstalls from clean computer and still no luck.

    What the heck is going on?
