Unsupported Cards for MC Workaround
Hello CC,
I’m trying diagnose an Avid error message for a friend that reads:
“The exception unknown software error exception (0xe0000008) occurred in the application at location 0x00007FFDE3C6A839”
The dGPU for this example is a Nvidia RTX 2070
I know this maybe a broad question, but how does one use any unsupported cards like this and what simple/advanced solutions have you come up with (besides throwing it in the trash)?

In googling this, I see that it’s a WINDOWS error, not an Avid error. All results point to windows issues and solutions.
None of these issues mention the GPU. So what makes you think it’s the GPU?
And if Avid doesn’t work properly due to working with an unsupported GPU, the only solution is to get a supported GPU. BUT…nothing I find about this error mentions the GPU.

My friend thought it was a dGPU error so…
…this is the only reason I got.
If it’s not the dGPU but rather a system error, is there a way to fix it?
