…makes my work day soooo stressful.
Cant get anything done in the software after the last update. Just doing simple things like moving a wave file a bit in the timeline, push comma to get an audio preview, and it hangs. Crash close software, and open it again. Works for a few minutes more, then after some other banal task, hangs again. Then I try to start the software again, it hangs on “Initialising Media Core” forever. Have to reboot computer.
At the moment, every time I do ANYTHING its followed by ctrl-s. I cant work like this, its driving me nuts!!! The simplest things cause it to crash.
I cant wait for the next CC update. Perhaps my computer will just explode or something.

I am a CC customer, with the latest updates.

    Win7 pro.

I hope against hope… Anyone else suddenly having problem?

    Cheers,
    Simon

I find Ae to be generally stable. Have you tried resetting Ae preferences? Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) while the application is starting.

Here are some MediaCore hang troubleshooting steps:

AE has been working just fine for me after the update. Have you tried uninstalling / reinstalling the software?

If the installation of the last update didn’t install properly, that could cause any number of issues.

    Thanks for the responses gentlemen.
I have worked the problem down to being project specific. As far as I can tell, AE does not play nicely with Avid DV codecs.
