Hi all. I’m working with 10.01 version, I’ve never upgraded the software to 10.02 and I’ve never had this issue. Have I only been lucky?

I’ve been a heavy FCP user for more then 10 years, loved it sooo much… but now I switched to premiere. Being unable to save your work is not just a bug, it’s unbelievable… It’s, it’s it’s… I don’t have any word to express how disappointed and mad I am today against Apple.

Professional should absolutely refuse to use this ridiculous software till it is totally redone. I know this means next gen, like in 5-6 years: so be it.

More than 25 years on mac, more than 10 years editing with FCP.

    Now?

    Now it’s dead.

    Sad…

thank you everyone for your responses really appreciate it.
@ Raphael: I used premiere pro in the past few years and i was really happy with it but i thought that i need a more professional software and i directly thought of final cut pro since i don’t like avid that much. But when i saw the version 10 of fcp i was really shocked, i mean no multicamera, no save no nothing. I believe they should release some updates for the software or completely redesign it, meanwhile i’ll work on premiere pro.

FCP X is a 1.0 app. Coded from the ground up so it still needs some development time. There’s going to be a major update in the next few weeks.

The paradigm itself is new and well though out but Apple has to turn “thought” into “implementation.” I think by the end of this year it’ll be very impressive although still very different in workflow.

I’m sure you’re right, as you always are about these things, but what is your source for “the next few weeks”?

Piecing some things together from various places. Of course bread crumb trails can lead one of course when the wind blows.

Well certainly welcome bread crumbs if they don’t get blown away in the meantime – and if I’m going to trust anybody’s guess then it would be yours.

I’d cynically assumed that Apple’s prediction of “the early part of 2012” meant any time before the end of June, most probably the very last week of that month 😉

That’s what I thought as well but the wisps in the wind seem to point to earlier. I’m under the impression March the latest and possibly sooner.

Note that Apple also mentions XDCAM EX support from Sony
    https://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/software-update.html

And got this very interesting post from Ian Cook at Sony on the XDCAM forum on Dec 21.

Interesting that he says he isn’t saying anything due to NDA. It seems almost as if there’s marketing decisions being made around timing.

Looks like my little birdies (my crystal ball) were correct on this.

I just purchased Final Cut Pro X 10.0.3. Been working with it for two days and the tutorial content I have from a download training course is intact and working fine. However, when I started working on a small project for a client, I created the project, worked on it for 4 hours, exited out of the app. I came back later, loaded it up again and the project WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY!!! All the other projects seemed to be there. But the one I had just worked on was gone.

This bug seriously can not still be happening. Randomly loosing entire projects. Well, that’s kinda of a deal breaker for me. Kinda hard to be a film professional when everything you worked on just randomly decides to disappear without so much as an apology.

Is it too late to get my money back from Apple?
