I’m having a problem importing one specific mpeg-4 file into Premiere. Find below the codec info from MediaInspector.

The funny thing is I have several other files shot same day, same camera (JVC GY-HM100U) that import without problems. On top of that, the file that is problematic in Premiere plays without issues in both OSX Preview and VLC.

I’ve tried using MPEG Streamclip to convert but that does not recognize the file (Error: The movie file “035_0152_01.MOV” cannot be found. Without this file, the movie cannot play properly).) I presume this was the original file name before it was renamed using Adobe Bridge.

Transcoding from VLC spits out black or garbled video and good audio.

I have both QT and the Calibrated XD software installed.

The one inconsistency between this file and the others shot consecutively is the Codecs: For the problematic file, the codec is XD Cam Video, Integer (Big Endian), Timecode. For the working files it is MPEG-2 Video, Linear PCM, Timecode.

    Any guidance would be appretiated.

    Phil
