I’m not seeing an uninstaller for xdcam 2.8 on my mac.

I need to install 2.9 and everyone recommends uninstalling.

do you just do a spotlight search for xdcam and delete everything
    that comes up?

I just popped open the 2.8dmg and didn’t find an uninstaller, so open the applications folder and at the bottom is the XD Cam transfer app, drag that to the trash and empty.

    Good Luck

I don’t know if it’s necessary to remove this as well, but I did find a file “com.sony.bprl.xdcamexporter.plist” file in my user preferences folder. I remember somebody mention a database incompatibility between versions of one of the Sony apps, but I don’t remember if that was Clip Browser or XDCAM Transfer.

I can’t now remember for sure but I don’t think I did that. When I upgraded I think just ran the 2.9 installer and it happily replaced my current 2.8 application and plug-ins.

If you delete the .plist files you’ll lose your import and export preferences.
