You don’t have an option to choose to reinstall it, it just reinstalls.

September 23, 2009 at 3:43 pmI am also confused about the Grayed out boxes for Compressor and Apple Qmaster when I try to reinstall Final Cut Studio.
My hard drive crashed, and although I was able to transfer most of the data to my new hard drive, FCS wouldn’t open. I uninstalled it with Digital Rebellion’s cool uninstaller.

It seemed to work great, but when I try to reinstall, I get the grayed out boxes on those two components. I’m not sure about answer to this problem. Am I to understand that they will install anyway? The installer is telling me that they won’t.
Thanks for your help on this!

Yes, no matter what you install, Compressor and QMaster HAVE to install. That’s why you cna’t just install FCP itself, you have to install all the applcations (but you don’t have to install all the massive amounts of templates and media). It goes very fast, then make sure to do the software update to get you up to the latest versions of everything.
