I finally have a chance to install CS3 on my MacBook Pro 10.4.11. At present I still have AE 6.5 on the computer. Hard drive space on the laptop is at a premium so I will need to get rid of 6.5 first to load CS3. 6.5 did not have uninstall, can I (as in the past) just drag it to the trash?

Also, I’ve seen some threads re: QT 7.4 being a problem, has that been fix with 7.4.1? At present I still have QT 7.3.1, is that OK with AE CS3?

As alway, this communities input is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

Just keep in mind that all the projects you did in 6.5 will have to be updated for CS3. There are some plugins that don’t update, such as Keylight. If you used keylight in a 6.5 project, it will not work when you open the project in CS3.
If you have some projects created in 6.5 that you might want to work with some more, you should at least keep 6.5 on your system until you’ve determined what will and won’t update. Why not keep it anyway?- Mine is only 360 MB.
I’ve never uninstalled AE, actually. On my old G4 I’ve still got 4.1, 5.5, 6 and 6.5. They’re like vintage collectibles or something – can’t let em go.
The latest update of quicktime is 7.4.5 and it is free of the problem that limited render lengths.

    Sage advice.

Thanks for the rapid response. I will, as suggested, keep 6.5 until I’m comfortable transitioning to CS3.

    Cheers,
