Is it possible to group a series of simple shapes, give them a clipping mask, then ungroup the objects and have them all retain the clipping mask?

Basically I have hundreds of small dots, these small dots are clipped by a map, thus forming a map made of dots(lots and lots of them), I could leave it there but i am planning to animate these dots with newton physics engine, and need a way to have each dot clipped to the map, yet each on its own layer, I know i can do this dot by dot, however i was wondering if there is a way to clip a group of shapes, then expand the resulting shape into a bunch of shapes that i can break into separate layers for after effects?

    Thanks all!
