  ‘Unfolding’ polygon/geometric shape effect

  Hey Guys…

  So i recently came across a beautifully made motion video by the brilliant people at Bilderish, and theres an effect in there which i want to try to replicate.

  the video is here https://youtu.be/yeC3AisTs2Y and its the very first thing seen… the unfolding polygon/geometric map.

  Is anybody able to give me a brief overview on how id achieve a similar effect (besides manually rotating individually shape layers)? Its obvious cinema 4d was used in some aspect of the video, but I’m hoping this effect can be achieved in after effects.

  Your thoughts would be a huge help.
