  Uncompressed Quicktime files on PC

  I’ll attempt to make a long story short:

  I’ve got several video files that are Uncompressed 10-bit quicktime 4:2:2 files, which will play on Macs that have Final Cut Pro installed (as it comes with the necessary Codecs). These files will not play on my PC though, where I have both the newest version of Quicktime installed and Premiere Pro 2.0 (CS2).

  After searching, I found the BlackMagic Codec for my PC, and tried that out. Now, that works fine, but my issues:

  A) is BlackMagic a great codec for this, or would someone else recommend something better (not sure if BlackMagic is lossless or not, or potentially causes quality loss)?

  B) If I had Premiere CS3, does that come with the necessary software/codecs to run those type of quicktime files? If so, would this be better than using BlackMagic, as Premiere would have it built in?

  I have the Master Collection Trial disc from Adobe, but I haven’t installed it yet as I discovered when you go to install the trial, you only get Premiere. The “Premiere Bonuses” and “3-Party support” is not clickable to install and states that you must buy the full version before you can try these out. So, does anyone know if these “extras” would allow it to play the 10-bit quicktime files, or is the ability built into premiere CS3. I could install the trial and find out, plus have the project edited in the month that I have the trial for, but there is no point in installing the trial if it doesn’t come with the necessary codecs. And I wouldn’t want to ruin my 30 days of playing with the new features.

  Oh, I can email like 2 seconds of the video to someone if they have CS3 and would want to try it out. 2 seconds is about 5 megs.
