  • Uncompressed AVI distorts after placing it to a comp

    Hello everyone,

I’ve been doing some animation in 3D Max. Did that many times before. But in this case, I included pixel aspect ration setting, and have set it to 1.42. Outputs are fine quality uncompressed avi files. Now, when i needed it to compose them into 1 single movie (i rendered a few files with 1.42 px aspec). Opened AE CS3, made a comp to fit my movies, and crap. Movies look VERY distorted after I place them into stage. Here’s the link, to see what I’m talking about https://www.adpro.ee/qualityy.JPG

what worse – is that it renders in the same quality. 🙁

In premier pro it opens perfectly, renders perfectly too. but in AE it’s somewhy not.

Does anyone know why this happening and how can i FIX this?

    Thanks,
    Alex.

How is AE interpreting the file? Maybe AE is separating fields when it shouldn’t?

The pixels shouldn’t be any different. Just re-interpret them in AE or fit them into the comp.
