  • Unable to Select Node, Greyed out Box in Resolve 9.

Posted by Nina Frost on December 3, 2013 at 8:45 am

    Hi All,

I am new at this, so please be patient with me.

I shot some footage on 5D mark 3. In premiere pro CS6, after laying a sequence timeline, I exported an XML sequence.

In resolve 9, I imported the xml sequence. I opened the tab colour and started to do basic level balancing. I am able to preview the first node. BUT, here in the node window, I can’t seem to select the node. I can move it, but when i double click on it, left lick, middle click, the node does not appear highlighted. I can move the node and the lines, but it refuses to highlight(no yellow outline box).

I then tried creating serial node to the first node. It appears as greyed out with a “recycle” logo on it. There is no preview. Again, I can’t seem to select it.

There must be sumthing simple that i overlook somewhere but i cant find this simple problem in the forum.

Tutorials don’t seem to address this problem. I tried comparing screens with the online tutorials and i think my settings are the same.

    Can anyone help?

    Nina

I decided to add in a screen grab to better explain my simple question.

Please see the node box, no nodes are selected(i can’t select them) and one of them is greyed out)

    Operating system, PC

Hi, Double click on the node to select. use Option S (Alt S) to add a node after the current one.

If its greyed out with the recycle logo.. you may have a GPU resource issue. Lets start with one node first and make sure you can select that. Then add a second and see if that works.

    Hi Peter,

    Did the following,
mouse left Double click, mouse middle click, right click, failed to select.

I am able to add a new node, but as u can see the screengrab, its greyed out and i’m also unable to select.

    hi Peter

    1) install over the existing resolve or
    2) uninstall the previous resolve, reinstall the new resolve 10?

    Hi Peter,

I have upgraded to resolve 10, here is the situation,

    – I am able to select the nodes,
    – I am able to preview the second, third nods…etc
    – I can’t see the window mask selection tool in the preview, meaning, – I can apply the mask, but i can’t see where it is being applied to on the preview screen, see attached image (no selection rings)…

    Please advise

    Nina
