  unable to preview clips before import with 7d footage

  Just making the transition to fcp X and while I’ve been able to import an entire card of 7d footage I’m unable to preview the clips when I try and open an archive before I import. I’ve copied the entire folder from my card to another drive (not my editing drive) and when I try to open in it as an archive I get this message: “fcp x test movie roll 1” contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.

  I’ve done some searching and read that I can’t have jpegs on the card with .mov files so I trashed those. I actually didn’t know what the thm files were and tried trashing them and ironically I was able to preview and import files but not transcode the media to pro res. There are only .mov and thm files in the folder.
  Help! Please advise.
