Unable to perform edit to tape on Digibeta using SDI

SDI In and OutI have control of the deck and can log and capture fine. I need to black and code a tape and every time I press the button in the Edit to Tape window a get a dialogue box that says “Unable to perform Black and Code. The Tape appears to be write protected or the deck may be in Local mode.”
Is there a setting I’m missing? Please help.

Is the deck in LOCAL mode? Or is it switched to REMOTE? You don’t mention that. Nor if the tape’s WRITE PROTECT tab is set for record.

Today I learned that Digibetas do not record to BetaSP.
