I’ve searched and searched, and seen many people saying that they’ve got a Sony DCR-TRV350 and that they use Premiere Pro all the time. However, in my Capturing > Device Control settings, the DCR-TRV350 isn’t shown. Does this mean it’s not supported or is there something I need to do? I don’t see why it wouldn’t be since its older brother, the TRV330 is right there in the list. I’ve updated Adobe Premiere Pro, and installed brand new drivers/updates from Sony.

    Windows XP Home
    Sony Digital Handycam DCR-TRV350
    Adobe Premiere Pro v1.5

I’m connecting the camera via USB. Premiere Pro always reports the capturing device as being “offline.”

Windows Movie Maker is able to capture video from this device no problem, but it’s virtually a worthless program to me when I’ve got Adobe Premiere Pro in hand.

I give thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

You’ll probably have better luck connecting the camera to the system via firewire rather than USB. Firewire is the traditional way of transferring DV video and device control.
