    Hi,
    For an unknowned reason I am presently unable to capture into Premiere Pro CS3 from my Canon HV 30. The camcorder is connected using a firewire coonection and appears as an active unit under MyComputer. In the Premiere Capture screen I have the following message: “Can’t activate recorder. Try to reset your device”. My Canon HV30 settings are:
    REC/IN SET UP
    – DV AUDIO: greyed
    – AV-> DV: greyed
    PLAY/OUT SETUP1
    – Pay Std: greyed
    PLAY/OUT SETUP2
    – Component out: 1080i
    – DV output: greyed
    HDMI OUT
    – – – – – – – –

    I can monitor the camcorder (play, stop, reward… ) from the PremiereCS3 Capture screen but no picture appears in this screen and the record button is greyed.

    Thank you for your help

    I have finally solved my problem after many checking. Although the Ieee 1394 connection was mentioned as “Activated” in the Control Panel/Network connections”, I have had to de-activate and re-activate it several times before the Premiere capture can work again. This mis functioning had appeared when I had tried to capture HDV rushs after I had captured DV rushs .
