Ultra Violet Photography – Getting the most accurate rendition
Hello,
I have been experimenting with filming scenes with nothing but UV light with my GL2..
For the most part, things look quite accurate, but a few things just aren’t “coming through”the overall look is of a greenish tint, as apposed to purple-ish, initially I brushed this off saying I would colour-correct it in post, however, when I directly film the UV lamp itself, it appears bright green..
also, one of the main reasons I am using UV for this scene is for the effect it has on human faces (skin turning mottled purple with green specs, dust ALL over them, puples green, teeth bright white, basically similar to the shot in “the fifth element” in NucleoLab..
when I shoot people, their puples are normal, and they look simply as if a big green lamp is on them.
Is there a filter I should be using? (maybe even my UV filter?) (I have an ND, (built in and physical) a FLD filter, and a polarizor..
My exposure I’ve been using is 30p, 1.8f, 0db gain..thanks for any help, I’ll continue experimenting in the meantime, but any help will be very appreciated
