This is just a warning. My post house bought a new 8 core mac pro, and Ultimatte does not install correctly on it. The people at Ultimatte do not know how to fix the problem, and basically told me “you’re screwed”. If you are considering purchasing this product, I would highly discourage it.

    Just a warning.

Leave it to Jobs and team to continually abandon or create new problems for long time and new Mac users. I use a dual 2.7 G5 and just found out the CS3 Production Suite requires an Intel processor if you intend to use Premiere, Encore and Soundbooth – AE works just fine. Damn, can’t they get this stuff right? Glad I’m on both Mac and PC . . .

[Scott Roberts] “I use a dual 2.7 G5 and just found out the CS3 Production Suite requires an Intel processor…”

You might want to read the side of the box next time where it gives the requirements, the very first one on the list is a “multicore Intel processor.” On the Adobe site they were also quite clear that CS3 required an Intel architecture. Even in their press releases — and also in their pre-release announcements as well as in the COW podcast and newsletter interviews with many of their team — they even came right out and said that the ONLY reason that they were coming back to the Mac and COULD make these tools work on the Mac, was because Apple was now on the Intel architecture.

While I agree with you that Apple makes things unduly hard on their developers and partners, I am always surprised at the number of people who will buy something without checking compatibility or requirements and then blame it on someone else.

    Best regards,
