Type in preview window looks chunky in Vegas 9
Hello, I just upgraded from Vegas 7 to Vegas 9. One thing I noticed right away is that the type in the Video Preview window looks rastered or chunky in Vegas 9 compared to Vegas 7. Both were set on the “Preview (Auto)” setting. I did render it and it looked fine, but I’m just curious to find out if this is normal.

It probably is. Vegas 9pro uses a different method for previewing than different versions. I would wager that if you dragged one of the corners of the preview window to make it either smaller or larger, you would see the quality of the text change.
Give this a try or disable this new feature in Vegas 9 (it makes it so that you get the best playback for the media that is populating the timeline and adjusts accordingly).
