Hi — trying to get a white glow behind some black type ie black tyoe is unaffected by white glow behind ( as found in PS ) ……

…… think I’m making hard work of this – currently using multiple white drop shadows with no distance and lots of blurring ….

———– anyone know the easy way please ?

    Hi Dave

    — thanks for speedy reply —- much appreciated

————- problem with the drop shadow method is client wants MASSIVE white ‘ glow’ and it requires many multiple copies all maxed out which is clunky as have quite a bit of type do with this ..

    — will try other method and see if its more manageable —

Another option if your background is dark is to duplicate the text, make it white, add a fast blur and set the blending mode to add. Drop it underneath the original. With the fast blur you can get a pretty good spread and it renders pretty quick.

    — Hi Dave —

    — used the glow method and it worked just fine – will remember follow-up comments and check it out next time…

I guess as much as anything I was wondering if there is a text setting — such as ” outline / ouline width / soften / etc ” …..

—– once again, many thanks ——–chris —

i would think layer styles>outer glow would do well, it has settings fo both size (feather) and spread, which can really heavy it up.
