Correct, it’s a button click away. FWIW, any common attributes of multiple selected files, audio or otherwise, can be manipulated in the inspector.

As to OMF, get X2Pro (LE or Professional) and send ’em an AAF. It works great and will import to most common DAW’s (Logic, ProTools, Nuendo etc) If they insist on an OMF, use Xto7 to bring it into FCP 7, do whatever cleanup needs doing, and export OMF from there. I would add that it is very important to assign the correct Roles to your Audio before you start cutting. You can do it anytime, but trust me, you want to do it in the Event. Do that, and everything is super easy. 🙂

Thanx a lot. Yes, i managed to split the Audio like this. Unfortunately when bringing it into FCPX, even with the Mono box checked it would not do it. So, no way around the pricey third party software? Could you elaborate on the roles, since that is a part of FCPX I am not so familiar with yet.

Well, you can just bring it into FCP 7. You will need Xto7, but it really is worth it. Also, the LE version of X2Pro is fairly reasonable, though it doesn’t give you as much control as the pricey version. And do check out Andy’s tutorial, as well as the thread comment’s below it. 🙂

Way more clear now. Roles is a strong tool, even though it doesn’t help me to get around this non OMF issue.
Seems like the only way is to get X2Pro.
While I still wonder, what the difference is between the Pro and LE version..

The biggest difference is that the “pro” version can trim your media. Without that, the files are absolutely gigantic as it copies the entire source file, even if you only used 10 frames from it. Almost unusable if you have to send them out.

Could I not just export an XML from X and then import that XML to 7 and from there export an OMF, without any additional software?
