  • Two .MOV files – One imports fine and other glitches.

I have Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 Using with Quick Time 7.1.6.

I have 2 types of footage. One is .MOV video made in After Effects which imports just fine. The other is the .MOV video file from a digital video camera Kodak Play Sport ZX3. When I import the Zx3 videos in Vegas, I have no sound showing up in the sound track (I assume it didn’t get imported) and the video glitches (plays only first few frames…)

    Computer:
    Win XP 32it
    4GB Ram
    1GB Graphics – Nvidia Gforce GT220
    Intel Xeon 3.2 Khz

Does the file play correctly in the QuickTime Player? You’re expecting Vegas software that is 2 versions behind to work with the latest camera formats? That’s asking a lot. I would download Vegas Pro 10 and see if it reads the files. If it does, one possible solution is to upgrade your software to be as current as your camera. If not, you’ll need to convert the files to a format that Vegas Pro 8 can read.

I used to do converting but it just takes a lot of extra time. I have been struggling with this for a while now. I would be nice if it was as easy as just simply importing.

Well it might be as simple as importing if you updated your software to support your new camera.
