Two Microphone Echo
hello,
I’m editing a project where both my talents are walking a talking. Both are wearing lav mics. When they talk, I can hear them speaking in the other talents microphone and it creates an echo. I have solved this problem before by simply lowering one persons mic while the other is talking. I did this in PremieirePro and it was pretty straightforward approach. Wondering if there is a more efficient way to do this in Audition though?Thanks!

first thing that comes to mind is simple audio ducking. it’s built into audition and premiere. you’re lucky they don’t talk over each other. I don’t know how well it would work. It would depend on how loud the mic bleed was, but there is an option called duck-against-dialogue in it though. since you’re already done with the project, you could always play around with this new feature and see what it can and can’t do.

Hey Chris, two things. First. Thanks for telling me the term “mic bleed”. I knew there was a better name for it.
Secondly, I’ll give auto ducking a try. I’ve played with it before, but not in this context.
