I have a two hour project all finished, and now I wish to make a twenty minute summary from it. What is the correct procedure to follow so that I do not lose my two hour version, but then I can also edit a copy.

    TIA.

    Ed.

Right-click the project in the browser and select “Duplicate as Snapshot”. This will create a copy without dependencies to the first project. You can freely edit each one without affecting the other. This command is analogous to “save a copy as” in other types of applications.

After effects should have this function. And if I’ve missed it, where is it?

Boy, what would I do without this forum!

Thanks for saving me at least an hour and a whole bunch of stress!
