  • Two copies of FCS2…any reason to keep the second?

Through certain circumstances transpiring, I have come to possess two copies of FCS2 (both Academic…which I got legit as I am a college professor). Before I return the second one, which according to what I read on the Apple site will take some doing as it is past the 14-day standard return grace period, I was wondering if there is any logical reason for me to have an additional copy of the suite? I can install from one software set onto two computers, correct (i.e., MacPro which I have and the MacBookPro that I will eventually get)? I can’t necessarily see a reason to keep the second FCS2 software, but it was relatively cheap with my discount so if there is any benefit to having it that I am not aware of, I would love to know. I can imagine I won’t have an easy or fun time dealing with customer service and the return…I never do.

    Thanks.

    Hey Trip,

It’s worth keeping the second copy if you ever see bouncing between your two computers working on different elements for the same project. You can install on both with one license, but you can’t use both (have a pro app running) on both at the same time while both machines are on the same network.

You could take one off the network, but that’s both inconvenient and shady. If you’ll never have both systems running a Pro app at the same time, then there’s no reason to keep it.

    Zak
