  • Twixtor Frame Rate Converion?

    Aloha,

I downloaded the demo of Twixtor because I wanted to test the Frame Rate Conversion, but there isn’t any Frame Rate Conversion in the current demo for AE 6.5 Pro. Reading stuff about Twistor it shows an input frame rate and an output frame rate on older versions, but that isn’t on the demo I just downloaded. How do I do frame rate conversion from 30p to 25p with Twixtor in AE 6.5 Pro?

The info you want are at:

    https://revisionfx.com/generalfaqsNTSCtoPAL.htm

    https://revisionfx.com/rstwixtortutorials.htm
    the Twixtor Basics tutorials,
Under After Effects -> Frame Rates

    Good luck!

    Shin,

Thanks for the reply, but the tutorial says set the “output frame rate”. There is no “output frame rate” option in the AEplugin demo. In output options I can change speed % or total number of frames, no “frame rate”. I am downloading the 217MB tutorials right now to see if there is anything different.

    Shin,

I just went through the 217MB tutorial and it talks about changing frame rates and what frame rates are, but never mentions how to do it.

Sorry.. our FAQs are out of date.

In order to change frame rates within AE, you simply tell Twixtor the input frame rate. Twixtor 4/4.5 gets the output frame rate from the composition settings.

You don’t need to set the output frame rate anywhere… it’s automagic. For example, if you want to convert 15fps to 29.97, you drop your 15fps footage into a 29.97 composition. Apply Twixtor and set the input frame rate to 15. The output frame rate will be retrieved from the composition.

I just found a reference to Output:Frame rate from our NTSC to PAL conversion FAQ. Anywhere else I should look?

Oops, Just noticed there’s an “output frame rate”
    paragraph in the page :
Twixtor 4.5 Controls in After Effects
    (….333FSAE/FSAE_01.htm)
<--- Dustin, ignore that paragraph. Output FR + field controls in Twixtor (AE) were removed in v.4.x. Only combustion version has the out FR control still. Arrgh! Not enough caffeine! 😉 -Shin

    Pete,

That was the only place I saw it referenced on the Re:Vision FX website. I found reference to output framerate on other websites talking about older version of Twixtor.
