Twitter slowmo basic question. Final Cut Pro
I’ve been trying to get twixtor working for hours. I’m using final cut pro.
I either get a black screen, no change, or a freeze frame of image upon rendering.
here are the steps i’ve been taking:
1. import clip
2. copy it a few times
3.make a new sequence
4. drag old sequence into the new one
5. find the twixtor filter and drag it onto the clip
6. change the speed between 100 to 50, 0 or -50.
7. render.
8. cry.Any ideas?

1) Are you running FCP 6.0.3 or over?
2) Did you download the right installer?

I’m using FCP 7 and I did use the right installer.
I’ve actually semi got it working now…I’m not really sure what I’m doing differently. I think it has to do with the time I’m copying the clip. Maybe I wasn’t making it long enough?
I’m actually trying to slow down some hockey slap shots. I’m getting a lot of blurring on the stick…everything else is fine. I’ve only shot it at 60 fps. Is it unrealistic to expect better results than that? I’m just experimenting with speed percentages at the moment

2) Twixtor Speed Ramp in FCPFor the blurry sticks they probably move too fast to be tracked, you might need some creative solution like doing it two times with different settings and using a very soft matte to composite one render over the other. You can send me a few frames to techsupport at revisionfx dot com and I will look at it. It’s much easier to fix that if the camera is locked (on a tripod) or pre-stablized…
