Turning two points into position, rotation and scale
Posted by Jim Dodson on April 18, 2009 at 5:24 pmI’ve completely forgotten how to do this:
I have two points tracked to two separate solids.
i want to turn these two layers into position, rotation and scale of a new layer. How do I do that?

April 19, 2009 at 4:02 pmThe two points of tracking data didn’t come from one pass of motion tracker — they were averaged and adjusted using Mackdadd’s killer TrackViz scripts.
Info here:
https://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/trackerviz-cs3-t16031.htmlScript Available here:
https://www.mackdadd.com/CG/trackerviz/TrackerViz_v2-1.zipBut there is a way to paste the two tracking points back onto the Motion Tracker’s attach points, I’m just missing something somehow… I’ve pasted the two points to a motion tracker’s two attach points and the tracking is good but the rotation is cattywhumpus…

April 20, 2009 at 11:44 amTake a look at the Expression for either LookAt or PointAt. The script animated a layer’s rotation by making it point/look at towards/at another layer. The lookAt Expression method is in the Help files, IIRC.
For more info, perform a COW Search for the two terms mentioned.
Good Luck!
