Just edited something with a number of photos. The transform movement on each photo is a simple zoom in and reposition with a start and end keyframe. Even after I turn the keyframes to “linear” the path of motion isn’t a simple straight movement, FCPX still makes adjustments to the path and it adds some squirrelly odd movement.

I need to get this out today, and I’d appreciate any suggestions on how to turn off that weirdness.

I also tried the Ken Burns effect, which seems to have ease in and ease out on by default with no way to turn that off either. Hopefully I’ve missed something.

    Thanks,
    John

I think I’ve figured this out. Set your beginning and end keyframes, set to Linear. Add and remove new keyframes at about one quarter, one half, and three quarters thru the clip. This seems to remove the unwanted extra motion.

These are all 3-5 second clips, don’t know how this would work with longer ones.

    Best,
    John

I wish I’d found that when I was searching the forum. Excellent work.

I will note that I didn’t have the adjust any handles, at least with just two keyframes. Just add and delete keyframes at these 1/4 points. And 3 seems to do the trick.

    Thanks.

    Best,
    John
