    Hi

I have just bought a 3D model of a racing driver however the mesh is useless. It basically has come in as a single pose. The main body object is just one object. How can I rig this model if it is pretty much a single mesh/object. I need legs arms, knees and shoulders.

What do I do? I want to use Mixamo fbx file with it but cant as this is just a single mesh.

How do I break down model?

    Thanks

It’s a fairly complex process, but you would use joints, a Skin Deformer, and a weight tag to assign the influence of the joints on the vertices of the mesh. If you want to use Mixamo mocap data you’ll want to mirror the joint structure and naming conventions that they use. In theory you should be able to apply that information using a Retarget tag.

    Depends on your circumstances I guess. FWIW, there’s Mixamo’s C4D page: https://www.mixamo.com/workflows/cinema4d

Lets say I got a animated figure going in cinema 4D. Basic Minamo setup. How would I get this dressed in clothes made in Marvellous designer. Basically all I want is a guy walking towards camera dressed in a racing suit,.
