  • Trying to update FCP 6.0.1 to 6.0.6

Posted by Gary Boland on October 3, 2011 at 8:17 pm

About a year ago I purchased an intel I Mac to make a family video with fcp 6.0.1. I need to get it updated to 6.0.6. So I can edit other FCP projects started in 6.0.6 on my G5 mac. I have several FCP projects saved on my external HDs that I would like to edited with this faster intel Imac.

FCP will not let me open projects started FCP 6.0.6 projects with FCP 6.0.1

Several have sent links to pro applications folder updates, after updating them it still FCP 6.0.1

So far, I cannot find the correct updates to get my FCP 6.0.1 to 6.0.6 anywhere.

    Any help?
    Thanks
    Gary

Have you tried exporting an XML from 6.0.1 and then opening it in 6.0.6? I don’t remember FCP6’s upgrade path. It’s been a while.

You should be able to simply run software update and continue to run it until all is up to date. You cannot do this?

FCP was on the desk top and not in the applications folder. Once I put FCP it in the applications folder the updates went fine.

    How that happened, who knows?
