Activity Forums Adobe Illustrator Trying to ‘thin’ a compound path

Basically, I have used the image trace function of CS6 to convert a line drawing to compound paths, and I’m hoping:

Is there any way to thin this compound path, like you might do with a stroke? Or am I better off using the pen tool to convert the drawing to standard paths?

If I ‘release’ the compound path via the menu it fills the whole image with black. A white stroke on everything may give the appearance of thinning the black lines but I get the feeling it might cause problems later on. Any advice much appreciated.

    Cheers all!
