I’m trying to get a light (spot) to whip around and wobble like it’s in my hand, and I thought I could just apply the light layer to motion sketch, but it says I can’t motion sketch 3D layers… I’m hoping I won’t have to keyframe out the whipping… What else can I do?

Try this: Motion sketch to a 2D null, then apply an expression to the position of the light. Pickwhip the X and Y positions of that expression to the X and Y positions of the light.

Here’s a start: the light’s position expression, separated out, would be:
    [position[0],position[1],position[2]]

Then you select position[0] and pickwhip it to the null’s x-position. And you do a similar thing to position[1], pickwhipping it to thew Y-position.

Dan may have something more elegant. 🙂
