  • Trying to import MP4 with Linear PCM codec into FCP7

    I’ve tried downloading the Sony Log and Transfer plug in, but I cannot figure out if that helps once the file is already in the MP4 state. The MP4 was provided by a client, so there is no way to get the native file.

    Use free applications like MPEG Streamclip or 5DtoRGB to convert it to a file you like for example Apple ProRes, etc.
    Then bring it into FCP.

    Are you talking about MP4 coming from XDCAM cameras?
    You can’t use L&T without the full card structure.
    If you have just the MP4 you need to rebuild the file/folders structure using the SONY Clip Browser. Then you can run L&T/
    The other solution is to use Calibrated plugin:
