    Hi,
I managed to import some bwf files into FCP. I now want to go a step further and import the embedded data as well.
I have been trying to use sebsky tools, but I get this error message:

    “Unable to set Type Code!
The Type Code of file: S037T0101_1.BWF can’t be set. If your files are located on a non-writeable disk (eg. CD or DVD), please copy them to a local hard drive and try again.”

The thing is, they are in a local drive!!

    The log window says:
The BWF File: /Volumes/SAKO/BESTE MEDIA SAKO/Txalaparta bwf audio for FCP/beste/S037T0101_1.BWF lacks a Wave Type Code.
Unable to set Type Code of file: /Volumes/SAKO/BESTE MEDIA SAKO/Txalaparta bwf audio for FCP/beste/S037T0101_1.BWF.

The files where created with Sounddevices 744T and are supposed to be in sync with our DigiBeta tapes.

Anybody knows what we are doing wrong?

    Thanks

    Iurre

I don’t have any experience with bwf files, so this is a long shot. Have you checked the file permissions? Do a “get info” on your local file (command-i), toggle down “ownership & permissions>details…” and make sure everything is set to read/write. Even though the files are on your local drive, there is a small chance they are “locked.”

    hope this helps,

Here’s another BWF utility program which might be helpful.

    Howdy,

I’m searching for a BWF import solution for FCP too. Although it looks like it will do the job, I went to the Spherico Film Tools site and there’s no way to download/purchase BounceUSII. There’s just an email address. Any knowledge on how you get copy of BounceUSII? Is this a beta application?

The same thing happened to me.
Later on, with Sebsky I managed to open the files but when I try the bwfTOf4 tool to try and get the TC information the program gets stuck for some reason.
    Anybody can help there?
