    Trying to export HDV to DV in Final Cut Pro

    We’ve just edited a 6 minute promo from footage digitized in HDV (1080i) format.
    We’re trying to output a DV Quicktime movie of the final edit, and it’s squeezed and / or having striation artifacts in the video.

    Any ideas on how to output a properly letterboxed 4×3 image that plays normally?

    Josh;

    Did you ever get this figured out? I volunteer at an international relief organization here in Santa Barbara – we have archive footage in HDV 1080i format, but some television stations want DV 4×3 not letterboxed.

    Thanks for any suggestions…
