Trying to enter in RGB or Hex values inside of a Replicator / Cell Controls / Color Gradient and I am going nuts!
Posted by Jiggy Gaton on May 11, 2017 at 9:04 amCan someone help me get the exact RGB value inside of that control? I can’t be dragging an eyedropper around till I find the right RGB. And then you have the option of entering in the % of RGB which makes no sense to me :_) thx!

May 11, 2017 at 9:33 amWell, I figured out how add them to color picker as swatches, then drag the swatch to the control, but come on, I know what the numbers have to be!

May 11, 2017 at 10:23 amTwirl open the controls next to each color swatch and you can enter your RGB values in the RGB fields.

May 11, 2017 at 6:28 pmThanks, but those decimals, not RGB values. What do I have to do, break out a calculator? Huh?

Yes.
And those are RGB values expressed on the scale of 0-1 rather than on the scale of 0-255. Doesn’t make them any less RGB values.

May 11, 2017 at 8:16 pmHa! That’s apple for ya. I guess I’m not-converting-decimal-to-RGB right. Every single other tool I use allows me to enter in something (everything) other than decimal points, so matching colors is a pain… frig that dropper!

May 14, 2017 at 2:49 amWhy not click on the color search and enter the values in the color picker?

May 14, 2017 at 9:57 amThx Bret. But I don’t see that here screenshot2017-05-14at3.37.18pm.png
But I am over this. If you can’t enter in values directly, like you do in Photoshop (HSB, RGB, LAB, or CMKY), then I’ll use the chiclets, but what a pain to match my colors in Photoshop to Motion.

May 14, 2017 at 12:02 pmIn your screenshot you can see there are 5 different ways to choose colors. You’re in chiclet mode. At the top of the color palette click the little rgb sliders icon. I believe you’ll also be able to enter hex values.
