Trying to dump to tape!
Hi…
I am trying to dump back to tape in FCP onto a brand new betcam sp tape. Everytime I try to print to video or edit to tape..I get this message:
“Unable to perform edit operation. The tape appears to be write protected.”
I have tried using other tapes (they are all brand new) and it still says the same thing…what I am doing wrong?
PLEASE HELP!

There is a switch on the VCR as well as the button on the bottom of the cassette.

The button on the tape is not pushed in. It is a brand new tape. I am using a DVW-M2000P Sony Digital Betacam VTR…what sort of switch on the deck are you talking about?

If the deck is a digibeta deck, you cannot us it to record BetaSP. It will play back beta, but not record to it. It will record to digibeta only.
