Trying to create an mpeg2 fie with CC
One of are half hour tv shows was picked up by another distributor. We would usually just send them a beta tape with the episode, but they wanted the show as an mpeg2 file. All i want to do is create an mpep2 file that is 720×486. I tried running the show through compressor, but it turns the 720×486 to 640×480. I’m probably looking over something.

A mpeg2 SD clip outta compressor should yield a 720X480 clip.
Are you viewing the clip in QT?

No the 720×486 is on my FCP timeline. We usually output to beta tape.

Where are you viewing the 640X480? Quicktime does not always show the true pixels.

Hi Chase,
I don’t think that you can do that kind of MPEG-2 because that size is not standard.
Ask your customers if an IMX would be OK.
IMX is MPEG-2 with PCM audio and supports that size (720×486).
You can do it with FC, Compressor, MPGstreamclip or even QT.
