    Hi,

I work at a television station and we are trying to upload our files to youtube. I have been converting my projects into AVI’s (using encoder, Microsoft DV AVI). When I upload as AVI, and view on Youtube, the video is very pixelated – I lose a substantial amount of resolution. In a past project I burned as AVI’s then sent through Windows Movie Maker and it actually gave me a decent picture resolution (however, I have tried this to no avail with recent material).

I’ve experimented quite a bit. I’ve tried everything using Premiere’s compression, MPEG1, MPEG2, Quicktime (I do not have MPEG4 capability). And at different screen sizes. Nothing seems to work.
    Any suggestions?

We want to stick with sending files from Premiere.

    Here’s a sample of our work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5Gg1Ty2jUQ

    Any help is VERY appreciated.

    Thanks!

It may seem a long route to go, but when I upload my videos to YouTube I’ve always done all my editing in Premiere Pro and export as AVI-DV. I’ll then use Microsoft’s Windows Media Encoder to convert that to a medium bandwidth (usually 512kbs or 1024kbs) .wmv – I’ve never liked the results I get from Premiere’s Media Encoder for Windows Media. I then use that .wmv to upload to YouTube – I get great results going that route.
