  • Trying to add text or image to hair

    Hello
i tried to model a tennis ball and every thing was fine until i got to the hair part. I’ve searched the internet for hours trying to find the tutorial that will help me draw text or an image ON hair on not hair on the text. Can someone please tell me how to do it?
    Thanks!

Place your texture in the hair material’s Color>Roots link box.

Wow Thanks for fast replying, I tried this but the result was that the text repeated itself over the ball, and was very wide and high, and not easy to read. I want it to only appear once and be very clear like the Wilson text on a real tennis ball.
Sorry for my bad English but can you please help me fix it?
    Thanks

The basic answer is that your texture will have to match the UVs of your object, same as if you applied a texture with UVW mapping. Beyond that, you can also put your texture inside an Effects>Projection shader which allows you to manipulate the mapping in various ways. Best to use the live render view so you can see what’s going on when you make changes. Also, reduce hair count until you get it the way you want it.
