These last few days I’ve been working with the color-correcting/film-look software Magic Bullet Looks and I got to tell y’all, it’s is SO cool!!!

Of course, I don’t work for the company – I just think that everyone should try it if they are serious about achieving some really great grades, with a really short learning curve.

    Try the demo here:

Glad to hear you’re having success Wayne. I’m going to be testing that out in a few weeks as well.

Were you able to get the demo to function properly? I can open the interface and play with the looks, but when I render a clip with the effect applied, I get the big red X, of course, but without any color effect applied at all.

Is this the way it’s supposed to work?

I’ve got MB Editors since a couple of years and I love it. I can not try the MB Looks because I don’t dare to instal it yet. I’m doing few things at the moment with the MB Editors and I’m afraid I could have problems. But as soon as I can I want to have a look to that interesting interface.

Probably wise not to upgrade while using editors, I have looks (which is absolutely fantastic) but went back to a project which I’d used editors extensively in, 95% ok but some shots came up with the logo on (as if using demo) and I had trouble with the misfire vignette.
Maybe not related but not worth the risk….

    Thanks Johnn,
I’ve read the MB forum and it seems there are some problems with demo.
    I will wait,
    Cheers,

I’m running a PPC 5 with verion 1.2 of Magic Bullet Editors and Looks is running perfectly.

It could be that there are issues on Intel machines and/or running MBE 2.x – I don’t know.

Re: watermark – I had the same problem and here is my workaround that, well, worked…
After I paid for my license code, I trashed the demo version and then re-installed. When prompted for the code at the re-install I entered it and voila, ‘I’m a lookin’ at Looks!’

    Hope this helps some-one.

It really is a great product. We got MB a few monhs back for really cheap because they were doing some promotion with digital juice. I’m really glad we this as it has s ome fantastic looks as well as the ability to creat your own.
