  • Troubleshooting: Footage becomes ‘pixelated’ after rendering

Posted by Blaise on February 22, 2006 at 7:04 pm

    Hi All

I’ve recently upgraded to version 5 and I’ve been editing in HDV and DV. In the sequence timeline, when cutting the footage is fine. After I apply an effect (any effect from colour correction to deinterlace) the footage becomes ‘pixelated’ i.e. you can see enlarged pixels.

Just wondering if there maybe a setting I may have unchecked or mixed up when changing the audio/video settings? Does anybody know what I’m taking about? Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

You need to set FCP to render at Highest Quality.

And you must NEVER attempt to judge QUALITY on the computer monitor.

You can ONLY judge quality on an EXTERNAL VIDEO MONITOR.
